Madonna confirms Gogol Bordello Live Earth guest spot

Madonna has confirmed she is to perform with members of Gogol Bordello.

As previously reported on NME.COM it was rumoured the band would play with the pop queen after they pulled their performance at T In The Park so some members of the band could perform at Live Earth.

Now it has been confirmed that band members Eugene Hutz and Sergey Ryabtsey are to perform with the singer when she plays Wembley Stadium on Saturday (July 7).

In a new statement the band said: “Due to timings of their performance at T In The Park, and recent events, it was not possible to do both in one day, as a result Gogol Bordello have had to cancel their set at T In The Park, and apologise to their Scottish fans. With one member of Gogol Bordello, Elizabeth Sun, hailing from Scotland, they value their support. “

The band are still scheduled to perform at Oxegen Festival on the Sunday (July 8).

Gogol Bordello are planning to make up for any disappointment that their fans may feel following this cancellation.
