Madonna nominated to Rock Hall of Fame

Beastie Boys, Leonard Cohen also get nods

Madonna has received a nomination to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2008, along with Beastie Boys, John Mellencamp, Leonard Cohen, and disco era artists Donna Summer and Chic.

Also nominated for induction into the Hall are rapper Afrika Bambaataa, The Dave Clark Five and The Ventures.

These nominees join the elite ranks of other Hall of Fame members including Led Zeppelin, James Brown, Elvis Presley, Little Richard, and Blondie.

The artists will be honoured at a March 10 ceremony held at the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel in New York City, where they may perform.

The honourees are nominated by approximately 500 musicians, industry professionals and journalists.

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is located in Cleveland, Ohio and began annually inducting artists and members of the music community in 1986.

You must put more of Leonard Cohens music on the radio, I never hear it, it is sad that more people cannot listen to this artist, they are missing so much.
