Event expected to raise $2 million for the impoverished nation

Madonna is set to host a party with fashion brand Gucci in February to raise money for Malawian orphans.

The event will take place at the United Nations Headquarters in New York City, and will benefit UNICEF and Raising Malawi, the charity she co-founded in 2006.

The singer and husband Guy Ritchie are in the process of adopting Malawian boy David Banda, who was in an orphanage in the African country. She was accused of using her fame and wealth to speed up the adoption process.

Actors Demi Moore, Ashton Kutcher, Gwyneth Paltrow and Salma Hayek are all expected at the event on February 6.
