Singer gets green light to officially adopt David Banda
Madonna has been given the green light to officially adopt David Banda, the two-year-old boy who has been living with the singer and her husband, Guy Ritchie, since October 2006.
An official visited the couple in their home and reported that it would be in the best interests of the child to be adopted by them.
There will now be a court hearing to decide whether the full go-ahead can be given.
Madonna and Ritchie have asked for the hearing, set to take place at the end of April, to be delayed as the singer has commitments in the USA.
