Madonna scores 13th Number One

There's high entries for The Last Shadow Puppets and The Kooks too

Madonna has recorded the 13th UK Number One of her career after her new single '4 Minutes' jumped three places to the top of the UK singles chart.

The track, which also features Justin Timberlake, knocked Estelle into second spot with 'American Boy' after climbing up from Number Four.

According to The Official UK Charts Company, Madonna has had more UK Number One singles than any other female solo artist. Kylie Minogue comes closest to her with seven.

Meanwhile, Sam Sparro drops a place to Number Three with 'Black And Gold', while The Last Shadow Puppets, Alex Turner's side project, scored a high new entry at Number Nine with the title track of their album 'The Age Of The Understatement'.

In the album chart, The Kooks went straight in at Number One with 'Konk', while Mariah Carey went in at three with her new album 'E=mc2'. Elliot Minor also scored a Top Ten entry at Nine with their self-titled debut.
