i've never been too bothered about the charts, but looking at that top ten depresses me. what is it with american culture that the uk public seems to relate to more than their own. we have a massive array of young artists creating original, exciting new music, but still remains 'cult' status in terms of sales and popularity. i feel we desperately need a new band of heroes to blow the market wide open in the way oasis & the arctic monkeys have in the past (i don't necessarily mean a guitar band). The most deppressing fact is people actually buy scouting for girls records.
