Madonna's adoption case approved
Singer has officially adopted David Banda
Madonna has officially adopted Malawi baby David Banda, after a court in Lilongwe, the capital of his home country, approved her adoption case.
The singer began proceedings for the adoption in 2006, and was since accused of abusing her celebrity status to smooth over the adoption process.
David Banda had been put up for adoption by his father, Yohane Banda, after the boy's mother died of an AIDS-related illness.
Alan Chinula, Madonna's lawyer, said, "It is a positive and beautiful judgment that will have an impact on Malawi's adoption laws," reports BBC News.
