Madonna bans Vice-Presidential hopeful Sarah Palin from gigs

Singer lashes out against Republican candidate during show

Madonna has banned US Republican Vice-Presidential candidate Sarah Palin from attending her concerts.

The singer made the statement during a gig in Meadowlands, New Jersey on Saturday (October 4), reports Contactmusic.

"Sarah Palin can't come to my party," Madonna announced during the show. "Sarah Palin can't come to my show. It's nothing personal."

She added: "Here's the sound of Sarah Palin's husband's snowmobile when it won't start," before making a screeching noise.

The singer's current 'Sticky And Sweet' tour features video footage of Republican Presidential candidate John McCain alongside images of starving children and global destruction.

Not a particularly articulate statement from Madonna, but a necessary one. To any US readers, please do not vote for McCain/Palin; if you do you have blood on your hands.

seriously, is madonna contributing sth by making these comments? is she doing any good to the world ? i watched her concert in athens, greece. i got the impression she only lives and breathes for her fans and that's all. and she swears a lot on stage. is that supposed to be cool? only her fans enjoy it. i would have liked it 10 years ago but not now.

Our parent's generation had The Clash and The Pistols making political statements. We get an old bird with an ill-advised leotard camel toe

God Damn!! i see the same mistakes are being made again! Obviously that Kerry chap was the wrong candidate for the job but ill bet he would have faired a lot better if the whole world wasnt saying 'come on America we're counting on you, do the right thing' added to every pop/rock saying 'Democrat goood, Republican baaad'. ....Say what you want about Americans but theyre proud people and dont need everyone and his dog telling them whats right and what they should do, it got to the stage where they mustve thought 'you know what, FUCK YOU! ill do what i want' and then they went and voted for that other guy (you know the one!)... So in conclusion, yes Madonna, Springsteen, REM, Morello et al, we agree with you but please turn it down a bit..leave the people alone to make their choice and theyll no doubt do the right thing! lets hope so anyway, coz we're all fucked if they dont!!
