Madonna comments on divorce in interview

Singer says she's grateful for work distraction

Madonna has commented on her recent divorce from Guy Ritchie - and admitted that her busy schedule has proved to be a welcome distraction.

The pair's divorce was finalised on Friday morning (November 21) at the London High Court before District Judge Reid, with the decree nisi granted a month after the couple confirmed tabloid reports by announcing their split after eight years of marriage.

"I'm sad about my personal life, but I feel very blessed and very lucky that I have the opportunity to do what I do in my professional life," Madonna told the Associated Press yesterday (November 23). "It would be horrible if I was just thinking about getting a divorce and had nothing to do."

The singer is currently performing the final dates of the US leg of her 'Sticky & Sweet' world tour, which continues tonight (November 24) in Atlanta, GA.
