Madonna leads 2008 ticket sales

'Sticky And Sweet' tour grosses over $200million

Madonna was the biggest worldwide live music draw of 2008, according to a new report.

The singer grossed $281.6million (£194.8million) worth of tickets for her Sticky And Sweet tour, according to trade title Pollstar.

$105.3million of this was grossed in US ticket sales alone. The news comes in stark contrast to recent reports that the singer's most recent single 'Miles Away' was among the worst performing of her career.

Madonna's mammoth ticket sales beat Celine Dion into second place, with Bon Jovi, Bruce Springsteen and The Police making up the top five.

What a chilling indictment on the music biz of 2008 that this over-hyped, embarrassing old hag who doesn't even sing live can make such a killing!
