Madonna visits families of victims in deadly stage collapse
The pop star pays tribute to injured crew members
Approximately 50 workers were building the stage at the city's Velodrome stadium in anticipation of Madonna's gig there on Sunday (July 19), when the partially-built roof collapsed, as previously reported.
Madonna cancelled her gig there as a result. Instead, she visited the city with her two youngest children on the day the show was originally scheduled to take place to console the family of the French technician as well as injured workers at two local hospitals, reports People.
The pop star, who wore black for her trip, also paid tribute to the victims when she took the stage in Italy last Thursday night (July 16).
Last week, French authorities announced that they were launching a manslaughter investigation into the deadly collapse.
