Madonna is reportedly working on her new album with 'Ray Of Light' producer William Orbit.

According to the Sunday Mirror, the pop icon is currently "beavering away" in a New York studio with the knob twidder, who helmed the 1998 LP and contributed to its follow-up, 2000's 'Music'.

The newspaper also reckons the 52-year-old is planning a "huge" world tour to support the release next year.

Madonna's manager Guy Oseary confirmed she had started work on the new album last month. Writing on his Twitter page, he said:
It's official, Madonna's first day in the recording studio for the new album, very exciting. Happy 4th of July.

The singer has also been rumoured to be working on the album with DJs A-Trak and David Guetta, along with Meat Loaf's producer and songwriter Jim Steinman.

Her brother-in-law Joe Henry, who co-wrote 'Don't Tell Me' and 'Jump', is although thought be a collaborator on the LP.

The album will be the follow-up to Madonna's last studio album, 2008's 'Hard Candy'. That LP was her final studio album under her contract with Warners. She has since signed a deal to release music in partnership with concert promoter Live Nation.
