PLAY DUSTY FOR ME

Queen of pop to play '60s icon Dusty Springfield?...

PLAY DUSTY FOR ME
MADONNA is being tipped in the UK tabloids this morning to play DUSTY SPRINGFIELD in a movie of the pop icon's life.

According to The Star, Madonna and new husband Guy Ritchie's MadGuy film company will make the £1.5 million movie which they describe as "no-holds-barred" account of the late singer's "sex life, booze battle and money problems".

Springfield, who died in 1999 after a battle against breast cancer, had hits throughout the '60s such as 'I Only Want To Be With You', 'I Just Don't Know What To Do With Myself', 'Son Of A Preacher Man' and 'You Don't Have To Say You Love Me'.

In 1987 she had a Number Two hit with the Pet Shop Boys on 'What Have I Done To Deserve This?' and she continued to release records at intervals through the '90s until 1995.
