Madonna has reportedly deleted a post from her Instagram account in which she appeared to praise former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher.

The singer drew criticism from fans after she posted an image of the late politician, as well as her well-known quote "If you set out to be liked, you would be prepared to compromise on anything at any time, and you would achieve nothing".

The caption posted with the image read: "Thank you Margaret Thatcher! #unapolgetic #rebelheart". See the tweet below.

Following criticism from fans for promoting the controversial political leader, Madonna swiftly deleted the post.

Meanwhile, Madonna recently responded to critics after kissing Drake onstage at Coachella earlier this month (April 12).

The singer appeared with Drake during the rapper's headline set at the first weekend of the US festival. After performing her 1989 hit 'Express Yourself', Madonna kissed Drake on the mouth with the rapper wiping his mouth and looking displeased afterwards.

This led to two days of jokes and memes online, before Madonna took to Instagram to write: "If you don’t like me and still watch everything I do. Bitch, you're a fan."
