Producer Diplo has announced that Major Lazer, his project with Jillionaire and Walshy Fire, will release a new EP in February (2014).

Writing on Twitter, Diplo revealed that Pharrell, Sean Paul, RDX, Machel Montano, and Elephant Man will all feature on the release.

The electro-dancehall project, which was formerly a collaboration with Diplo and producer Switch before he quit the group in 2011, released their debut album 'Guns Don't Kill People…Lazers Do' in 2009. It's follow-up, 'Free The Universe' was released in April 2013 and featured collaborations with a wide variety of guest artists including Santigold, Dirty Projecters, Shaggy and Danielle Haim.

In September last year (2013), the group said that young people need to be educated about how to take drugs safely following a spate of deaths in North America related to MDMA in the EDM community.

Following two deaths at New York's Electric Zoo festival, Jillionaire said: "It's going to sound weird, but we need to teach kids how to do drugs, the same way we teach them about drinking responsibly and having safe sex…Instead of acting like drugs don't exist, acknowledge that drugs will be at a festival and address them."
