Manic Street Preachers have revealed to NME they will debut some material from their long-awaited new album when they appear as support to The Verve at Ireland's Slane Castle on August 29.

Robbie Williams is also on the bill and other acts are expected to be announced in the coming weeks. For tickets, which cost #29.50 or Ir#32.00, call (Dublin) 00 3531 456 9569.

The Manics last live performance was in Tipperary in August 1997. They embark on a full tour after their album is released on September 7. Details are expected in July.
