Band set to start work on album number nine soon
Manic Street Preachers have revealed that they will begin work on their next studio album at the end of next month.
Writing on the Manic Street Preachers blog, bassist Nicky Wire said that the three-piece were set to enter the studio to begin work on what will be their ninth studio album, and the follow-up to 2007's 'Send Away The Tigers'.
The band previously told NME.COM that they had been writing "dark" new material that echoed their classic 1994 album 'The Holy Bible'.
"End of September, we're hoping to start a new record," Wire wrote. "I can't really talk about it at the moment, but as far as we're concerned, it's booked and we’re going in to start recording properly around then.
"Were really excited about it, we really are."
The band are set to headline the NME/Radio 1 Stage at this weekend's Reading And Leeds Festivals (August 22-24).
