Manic Street Preachers (pictured) and Massive Attack have swapped re-mix favours on each other's upcoming single releases.

Manics' singer James Dean Bradfield has remixed Massive Attack's forthcoming single 'Inertia Creeps', which is out on September 21, the first time Bradfield has reworked another artist's material. The track appears in its original version on Massive Attack's current hit album 'Mezzanine'.

In return, Bradfield approached Massive Attack to re-mix the Manics' new single 'If You Tolerate This Your Children Will Be Next', which is out on August 24. Massive Attack's version appears as a B-side for CD2, the other featured track being a David Holmes' remix of the same song. CD1 features two new tracks, 'Prologue To History' and 'Montana/Autumn/78' as backing to the single, while the cassette version has 'Kevin Carter' as an extra track, recorded live at the Manchester Nynex Arena last year.

The Manics' spokesperson said: "Massive Attack wanted James to do it, as it worked well when they had the re-mix done by Blur for the last single. James is a very talented bloke so he went for it, but asked them to re-mix the Manics' single in return."
