Manic Street Preachers are booked to perform on Strictly Come Dancing on Sunday (December 5).

The band sent a message from their official Twitter.com page, Twitter.com/manicspostcards about the appearance, and a BBC spokesperson confirmed they would be playing.

"Unbelievable – we have got Strictly Come Dancing on Sunday", they wrote. "Mass communication indeed. What to wear?"

The show airs at 7:30pm (GMT) on BBC1.

The band are set to release a new single, 'Some Kind Of Nothingness', which features guest vocals from Echo And The Bunnymen's Ian McCulloch, on Monday.

They're also releasing a live digital EP on Sunday featuring the single plus versions of 'Masses Against The Classes', 'Sleepflower' and 'Yes'.
