Ed Simons of The Chemical Brothers, DJ Erol Alkan and broadcaster and journalist Steve Lamacq are amongst those who have contributed to a new biography which accompanies the Manic Street Preachers’ singles collection ‘National Treasures’.

The album is out on October 31, but the accompanying biography features contributions from a host of musicians, writers and famous fans of the band, including actor Michael Sheen, journalist Caitlin Moran, NME editor Krissi Murison and comedian and broadcaster Phill Jupitus. Each figure writes about one of the 38 singles on the album.

The biography can be viewed at Manicstreetpreachers.com.

Manic Street Preachers' single 'Love's Sweet Exile', from 1992’s ‘Generation Terrorists’, is being given away by the band for free on Amazon. To access the free download, click here.

The band play a one-off show at London O2 Arena on December 17.
