Manic Street Preachers hint at breaking hiatus for live shows

Rockers had previously stated they would be away for two years

Manic Street Preachers have hinted that they could perform live sooner than expected after growing frustrated at their own plans for a two-year hiatus.

The band announced that they would not be performing live for a couple of years after headlining London's O2 Arena in December 2011. However, they posted Twitter last night "Desperate to do a show in the UK again - feels like an eternity since the amazing 02 gig. Might have to break our two-year curfew by a few months."

Manic Street Preachers are currently in the studio working on a new LP. There have been two updates on their progress posted on Twitter so far this month, the first coming on February 18 which read: "MSP were in the great Hansa Studios in January with Alex Silva (who recorded 'The Holy Bible' with us). Berlin was inspirational." This was soon followed by another tweet reading: "Sean been playing a french horn in the studio today - sounding wonderful."

Manic Street Preachers confirmed they had begun working on the in November 2012, though frontman James Dean Bradfield admitted he was struggling to come up with a title for the record, which will be the band's 11th studio effort.
