Manic Street Preachers have hinted that they could perform live sooner than expected after growing frustrated at their own plans for a two-year hiatus.

The band announced that they would not be performing live for a couple of years after headlining London's O2 Arena in December 2011. However, they posted Twitter last night "Desperate to do a show in the UK again - feels like an eternity since the amazing 02 gig. Might have to break our two-year curfew by a few months."

Manic Street Preachers are currently in the studio working on a new LP. There have been two updates on their progress posted on Twitter so far this month, the first coming on February 18 which read: "MSP were in the great Hansa Studios in January with Alex Silva (who recorded 'The Holy Bible' with us). Berlin was inspirational." This was soon followed by another tweet reading: "Sean been playing a french horn in the studio today - sounding wonderful."

Manic Street Preachers confirmed they had begun working on the in November 2012, though frontman James Dean Bradfield admitted he was struggling to come up with a title for the record, which will be the band's 11th studio effort.
