Manic Street Preachers have spoken about The Libertines' Hyde Park reunion show.

The gig, which takes place Saturday July 5, will see the band playing together at the huge London park. "It will be special when Pete steps back on stage with The Libertines", commented James Dean Bradfield. "He's always going to say something that resonates with you somehow. The way he holds himself with that 'the rain man's out to get me' look on his face' - I love it," he continued in an interview with Gigwise.

Bradfield added: "With The Libertines, I love them, and if they fall back into it and make a mistake, nobody cares. Literally fall. Sometimes to play that sloppily and have that contention to hang loose is something you can't teach people. It either sounds good or it sounds awful, and they just have that beautiful sloppiness."

Pete Doherty has said that The Libertines are "getting on better than we ever did" ahead of the band's sold out 60,000 capacity show, which is part of the Barclaycard British Summer Time series. Make sure you pick up next week's issue of NME, out July 9 on newsstands and available digitally, for an exclusive interview with The Libertines talking about what the future holds for the band, plus the definitive verdict on their comeback shows.

Last weekend (June 28), The Libertines reunited to play their first gig together in four years, taking to the stage at Glasgow Barrowland to play a 25-song set as a warm-up. After Hyde Park, The Libertines headline Benicassim festival on July 19, before going on their first tour of mainland Europe since 2004 in September.

The Libertines will play:

London Hyde Park British Summertime (July 5)
Lisbon Optimus Alive festival (12)
Benicàssim Festival (19)
Paris Zenith (September 30)
Amsterdam Heineken Music Hall (October 2)
Brussels FN Club (3)
Berlin Columbiahalle (4)
Dusseldorf Mitsubishi Electric Halle (5)
