'WISEGIRL' POWER!
MARIAH CAREY is to star in a gangster film, she announced
at the CANNES FILM FESTIVAL.

The diva will play a waitress in 'Wisegirls' alongside Oscar-winning actress Mira Sorvino in the Mafia comedy set in a restaurant which has links to the Mob.

'Wisegirls' will be Carey's second film starring role, following her appearance as a budding singer in the semi-autobiographical 'All That Glitters'.

Nigel Sinclair, one of 'Wisegirls' producers explained that in the film Carey' will play "a streetwise girl who knows the dark secret of the
restaurant but her two waitress friends are initiated into the Mob world after
some gruesome events."

The film is expected to start shooting soon.
