The star is expected to attend a private party at the Ocean venue in the heart of east London tonight...

MARIAH CAREY is to make an appearance at a LONDON venue tonight (July 13), at a private party for invited friends and fans.

The party at Ocean in Hackney is only open to competition winners, and it is thought that some of Mariah's friends - including Shaznay Lewis and Naomi Campbell, who are understood to have been invited - may also join her among the 500 present at the event.

A spokesperson told NME.COM that they are not yet sure whether or not the diva will perform her new single, 'Loverboy', which is released on Monday (July 16), but said that she will be mingling with fans at the event. It is also thought some of the participants in the Rising Tide project, which encourages adults and children in the Hackney area to participate in music with free courses, will be at the event.

The star is currently in the UK promoting the single, which is a precursor to the album 'Glitter' - the soundtrack to the film of the same name in which she stars. The soundtrack is released on August 20, and the movie is set for a November release.
