STONES GO CLUBBING

STONES GO CLUBBING

THE ROLLING STONES are lining up club dates in London, according to US music trade sheet Billboard magazine.

They are planning a show in west London for July 8 and are planning similar events in Sheffield and Edinburgh.

When The Rolling Stones last toured, they set up a special one-off show at London Brixton Academy that was attended by a few select fans who queued up all day to get a wrist-band that they had to wear a full week before the show in an effort for the promoters to discourage touts from making huge profits.

According to the report in Billboard, Marianne Faithful will join Mick Jagger onstage to record a song that will then be released as a single and that the club dates are being organised for charity.

The 'Bridges To Babylon' shows are at London Wembley Stadium on June 11 & 12, with the Stones playing to an estimated 72,000 strong crowd each night.

Tickets for the Wembley shows are available from nme.com's 24-hour ticketline on 0870 121 0125 or click here to go to our online gig guide and ticket service.
