Session drummer has taken Chris Vrenna's place behind the kit

Marilyn Manson names Jason Sutter as new drummer

Marilyn Manson have named Jason Sutter as their new drummer.

The sticksman, who has previously played as the touring drummer for the likes of Chris Cornell, Foreigner, Pink and the New York Dolls, will join the singer's touring line-up for the foreseeable future.

Sutter replaces Chris Vrenna, who left the band in November. Vrenna, who had previously played as the band's touring keyboardist, was only named as the band's permanent drummer in April 2011, replacing longtime drummer Ginger Fish, who departed in February, and has since joined Rob Zombie's live band.

Vrenna completed the drum parts for the band's forthcoming eighth studio album 'Born Villain', but declined to join the band for any live dates in support of it.

'Born Villain' is set to be released in the first half of this year. The record is the follow-up to Manson's 2009 album 'The High End Of Low', which was his last for longtime record label Interscope Records. He has since signed a new deal with Cooking Vinyl.
