Marion have announced that they will embark on their first UK tour in over 18 years this April.

The band's original line-up, which reformed for a one-off show in Manchester last December, have now confirmed that they will play six dates this Spring and are also set to start recording a new studio album later this year.

They originally split in the late 1990s after releasing two albums, 'This World And Body' and 'The Program', and despite scoring two top 40 hits with 'Let's All Go Together' and 'Time'.

Lead singer Jaime Harding and guitarist Phil Cunningham did briefly reform under the band's name in 2006 with a series of musicians from Bath, but it came to an end when Harding had to undergo open heart surgery.

You can read an interview with lead singer Harding in which he discusses his comeback with Marion after a decade of battling hard drugs, poverty and serious illness at NME.com/blogs.

Marion will play:

Manchester Ruby Lounge (April 7)
Glasgow King Tutts (10)
O2 Academy Islington (12)
Sheffield Leadmill 2 (13)
Durham Live Lounge (14)
York Duchess (15)
