The Mars Volta and Trent Reznor collaborate

US proggers The Mars Volta and Nine Inch Nails main man Trent Reznor are both to feature on hip hop star El-P’s new album.

‘I’ll Sleep When You’re Dead’ features the ex-At The Drive-In rockers on an as yet unnamed track, while Reznor contributes to the song ‘Flyentology’.

The New Yorker, born Jaime Meline, rose to fame with his 2002 album ‘Fantastic Damage’, before releasing the more obscure free jazz collaboration ‘High Water’ in 2004.

A release date is yet to be announced for El-P’s new album.

In other news, The Mars Volta's third album is strongly rumoured to be titled 'Amputechture', according to MTV. It's likely to be released in late summer, probably on August 11, according to several online forums.
