Due to 'personal circumstances'

Martha Wainwright has cancelled her three upcoming festival appearances due to “personal circumstances,” according to a statement.

The singer/songwriter was due to play shows at Edinburgh Belladrum (August 11) as well as a slot at the Leicester Summer Sundae festival this weekend.

As previously reported by NME.COM, the singer’s brother and sometime collaborator Rufus Wainwright is working on his new album, with a 2007 release date pencilled in.

Rufus Wainwright is set to play V Festival, at Weston Park in Staffordshire and Hylands Park in Chelmsford (August 19-20).
