Mary J Blige wins Grammy for Best Female R&B Vocal Performance
The songstress sweeps up
Mary J. Blige won the Grammy for Best Female R&B Vocal Performance at the awards ceremony in Los Angeles last night (February 11).
Blige beat off competition from:
Beyonce- 'Ring The Alarm'
Mariah Carey- 'Don't Forget About Us'
Natalie Cole- 'Day Dreaming'
Indie. Arie- 'I Am Not My Hair'.
The come-back songstress also won the Best R&B Song category and the 'Best R&B Album category. Blige was nominated for a total of eight awards.
Meanwhile, in the Best Male R&B Vocal Performance category, John Legend won for 'Heaven'. He beat off competition from:
Ne-Yo- 'So Sick'
Prince- 'Black Sweat'
Lionel Ritchie- 'I Call It Love'
Luther Vandross- 'Got You Home'.
In the Best Comtemporary R&B Album category, Beyonce won with 'B'Day'. She beat off competition from:
Chris Brown- 'Chris Brown'
Janet Jackson- '20 Y.O'
Kelis- 'Kelis Was Here'
Ne-Yo- 'In My Own Words'
