Former Guns N' Roses guitarist Slash has confirmed that he has recorded a new track with Mary J. Blige.

The guitarist has been in the studio working on material for his second solo album and confirmed on his feed that he had just finished a track with the singer. Slash wrote: "Just finished a session with Mike Clink engineering on a track with Mary J. Blige. Sounds killer!"

The collaboration would be Slash's third high profile outing with a female pop star in recent years.

He contributed guitar to Rihanna's 'Rockstar 101' on her 2009 'Rated R' album and most recently recorded a collaboration with Black Eyed Peas singer Fergie titled 'Beautiful Dangerous' on his 2010 solo album.

Slash is currently recording after an extensive world tour, which saw him play a series of UK gigs and festivals. He recently confirmed he would be recording another solo album rather than regrouping with Velvet Revolver.
