MASSIVE ATTACK RELEASE BLUR RE-MIX OF 'ANGEL' ON SINGLE

Massive Attack - who have just announced a UK arena tour for the end of this year - have revealed that their next single, 'Angel', has been remixed by Blur's Damon Albarn and Graham Coxon.

The collaboration with singer Albarn and guitarist Coxon, which will be out on July 13, marks the first time an Albarn remix has been commercially released. He worked in the studio with Tricky two years ago but the results were never issued because the pair had a falling out.

The Blur remix is the main B-side of the single, which also contains remixes from The Mad Professor. The original version of 'Angel' appears on Massive Attack's 'Mezzanine' album.

A spokesperson for Blur says: "They were approached by Massive Attack to do it three weeks ago and they were pretty thrilled about it to say the least. They're big fans. Massive Attack are apparently pleased with the results, too."

Massive Attack's UK shows are at Sheffield Arena (December 3), London Arena (4), Cardiff International Arena (7), Manchester Nynex Arena (8), Birmingham NEC (9), Brighton Centre (11) and Bournemouth International Centre (12). Tickets for all shows are #16.00 except London where they are #17.50.

Tickets for the Massive Attack tour are available from NME's 24-hour ticketline on 0870 1212 500. Calls are charged at national standard rate.
