Massive Attack planning new EP following 'Heligoland''s release

Massive Attack have revealed that they are planning to unveil an EP of new material in May, following the release of new album 'Heligoland'.

'Heligoland' is out on February 8, with band leader Robert '3D' Del Naja telling BBC 6music that fans could expect to hear songs that didn't make the cut for the album soon afterwards.

"It will probably be made up of tracks that we didn't put on this record, and maybe some new stuff as well," he said of the EP.

He added that a song, 'Red Light', that the band wrote with Elbow's Guy Garvey (who guests on 'Heligoland') is a possible for the EP – but they're struggling to capture it on record.

"That's obviously one of the tracks we're looking at trying to finish," he said. "We've got this one… which we wrote with Guy, which we’ve been playing live for two years and we still can’t finish it. I really don’t know if it will get finished."

Other guests who feature on 'Heligoland' include Damon Albarn, TV On The Radio's Tunde Adebimpe and Martina Topley-Bird.
