Maximo Park wow Nokia Isle of Wight Festival Maximo Park Tickets
It’s a productive afternoon’s work for Paul Smith and his men

Maximo Park have hailed their performance this afternoon (June 11) on the final day of the Nokia Isle Of Wight Festival as one of their best ever.
Speaking to NME.COM after coming off stage frontman Paul Smith was ecstatic about the set, only the band’s fifth performance since guitarist Duncan Lloyd recovered from breaking his arm.
“I think everything came together today,” explained Smith. “It’s the most people we’ve ever played and I really enjoyed. We’ve been recording demos recently and I’ve really missed playing for people. I think it went brilliantly today.”
Maximo Park played an energetic set that included ’Going Missing’, ‘Kiss You Better’ and crowd favourite ’Apply Some Pressure’, plus new song ’By The Monument’ which they have only performed four times previously.
Earlier the final day of this year’s festival had got underway with sets from Delays, Kubb and veterans Procol Harum who received a rapturous response for ’A White Shade Of Pale’ which they also played at the original Isle Of Wight festival in 1970.
The festival now continues with Coldplay (who will be broadcast live on Virgin Radio) and Richard Ashcroft set to play.
