Maximo Park have covered The Proclaimers track ’I'm Gonna Be (500 Miles)’.

The track is set to feature on the band’s new single ’Books For Boxes’ which is released on June 11.

The cover was originally recorded for Jo Whiley’s Live Lounge earlier this year.

Also as a B-side is the track ’Dom McPhee’ which continues the band’s ’Obituaries’ series which feature lyrics concerning people who have passed away.

The single ’Our Velocity’ featured tribute tracks ’Robert Altman’ and ’Mary O’Brien’- Dusty Springfield’s real name.

Speaking about the series, frontman Paul Smith said: “I discovered I was interested in reading obituaries as they can be such a great celebration of a person’s life, also it became a way for me to write about other people.”
