Maximo Park are to play a free gig in honour of the No Surrender charity next Tuesday (March 24).

The gig takes place at the Newcastle College Performance Academy, and the band will also sign 250 vinyl copies of new song 'Wraithlike' for fans who donate a minimum of £3 to the charity on the night.

Although 'Wraithlike' is available to download from Maximopark.com, the band say that the song won't be released physically on its own in any other form other than the limited-edition vinyl - making the record extremely rare.

All proceeds from the donations go towards No Surrender.

No Surrender supports cancer sufferers the world over through its social network site at No-surrender.org. The charity was set up by the band's friend Jason Boas, who recently passed away after suffering pancreatic cancer.

Wristbands for the gig will be available from the venue on a strictly first-come, first-served basis on the day, limited to one per person.
