Maximo Park will play a free hometown show to launch their new album.

The band release third LP 'Quicken The Heart' on May 11, and will play the Newcastle show on the same day.

The band will play at the Star And Shadow cinema from 8pm (BST) to 120 wristband holders. Fans can buy wrists bands for £3 from RPM Records from May 9.

The band's film 'Monument' will also be screened.

Additionally the five-piece are due to take part in an Q&A/signing session at HMV Newcastle on Northumberland Street at 6pm. Free wristbands for this event – unconnected to the gig – will be available from the shop from 8.30am on the day.
