Maximo Park announce 2014 UK tour

The band also reveal details of a deluxe version of their forthcoming new album

Maximo Park have announced the dates of a spring 2014 UK tour.

The shows will be in support of the band's fifth album 'Too Much Information', which is released on February 3. It is the follow-up to their 2012 LP 'The National Health'.

The trio also announced details of a deluxe edition of the album, which will feature a series of bonus cover tracks including their version of The Fall's 'Edinburgh Man' (renamed 'Middlesborough Man' for the record), Mazzy Star's 'Fade Into You' and Leonard Cohen's 'Lover, Lover, Lover'.

Last week, the band have also unveiled the first track to be taken from the album, 'Brain Cells', which fans can download for free below or listen to above.

'Too Much Information' was recorded and produced by the band in Newcastle and Sunderland with additional production duties from The Invisible’s Dave Okumu and from Field Music’s David and Peter Brewis.

Frontman Paul Smith said in a statement: "Our lyrics and our music will never be too-cool-for-school - we are an emotional band even if it might be too much information for some."
