Mazzy Star share Record Store Day release, 'I'm Less Here' - listen

The track has previously been performed live under a different name

Mazzy Star have shared their Record Store Day release, 'I'm Less Here'. You can listen to it at the top of the page, via Consequence Of Sound.

The track has previously been performed live under the name 'It Speaks Of Distance'. It was released today on 7 inch vinyl for Record Store Day, marking its first release despite dating back to 2000.

The b-side to the record is also a new song, titled 'Things'. The vinyl is pressed on "coke bottle clear" vinyl and is limited to 3000 copies.

Last year, Mazzy Star released their first album in 17 years, 'Seasons Of Your Day'. Speaking to Rolling Stone, one half of the band, David Roback said: "This new album has a lot of different combinations of instruments, acoustic and electric in different combinations we haven't used so much before. It's kind of a subtle thing we're more aware of, but it's interesting for us to perform this music live now. There's a lot of subtlety in the music, and to actually put that across live, when it happens, it's really exciting."

The new record also followed the 2011 release of the single 'Common Burn'/'Lay Myself Down', and features a guest spot from the late guitarist Bert Jansch, on the track 'Spoon'.
