Millions of McFly albums given away
The record came free with the Mail On Sunday newspaper
Around 2.4 million copies of McFly's latest studio album, 'Radio:ACTIVE', were given away free with the Mail On Sunday newspaper last Sunday (July 20).
The newspaper's usual circulation of 2.1 million rose by 300,000 due to the album coming packaged with the newspaper, reports BBC News. The album will receive a conventional CD release in September.
The newspaper's circulation rose by 600,000 when it came packaged with Prince's studio album, 'Planet Earth', in 2007. The newspaper has given away albums by artists including Sir Paul McCartney, and Simply Red in the past.
