Meat Loaf abandons gig due to 'stress'

Singer cuts short Newcastle show

Meat Loaf abandoned a show last night (October 31) due to "stress".

The singer was playing Newcastle’s Metro Radio Arena when he stopped the show midway through.

He launched into a performance of ’Paradise By The Dashboard Light’, then abruptly stopped, thanked the audience and left the stage.

Shortly afterwards an announcement was made saying that the singer had been taken ill.

A spokeswoman from Newcastle’s Metro Radio Arena said that he had been forced to curtail the gig due to an inflammation of the larynx.

His tour promoter Andrew Miller has refuted claims that he told the audience it would be his final gig.

Miller told BBC News: “I’ve spoken to his doctor and it’s clear it’s just exhaustion and stress. It’s not his last ever gig, that’s for sure. He’ll be fine. We hope that 24 hours rest will get him better.”

So Andrew Miller refutes claims tat Meatloaf told the audience it would be his final gig does he. was there and Meatloaf thanked everybody for coming and hoped they would have many more nights of paradise by the dashboard lights, then apologised and told everybody this was his final ever appearance.
all night his words were slurred ,he could keep up with the music, The bass player helped out on every song, he spent a long time just staring at the audience while the band played overlong intros and solo's. It was sad to See this legend trying to put together a performance(and try he did). If it was his last gig then thanks for all the years of rock n roll and enjoy your retirement.
