Mercury Rev have announced that they will perform their classic 1998 album 'Deserter's Songs' in full in Manchester next year.

The show, set for May 20 at Bridgewater Hall, is part of All Tomorrow's Parties' Don't Look Back season.

The album was crowned NME's Album Of The Year in 1998 and contains the singles 'Delta Sun Bottleneck Stomp', 'Goddess On A Hiway' and 'Opus 40'.

The group will also play the album at Dublin's Vicar Street (May 18), Edinburgh's The Queen's Hall (19) and London's Roundhouse (21).

Mercury Rev's gig is the second so far announced as part of Don't Look Back. Already confirmed are The Flaming Lips, who headline London's Alexandra Palace on July 1. They will perform their 1998 album 'The Soft Bulletin'. Also on the bill that night are Deerhoof, who'll play their 2004 album 'Milk Man', and Dinosaur Jr, who'll play 1988's 'Bug'.
