Metallica to go on summer European tour
The band take a break from recording new LP
Metallica are to take a break from recording their new album by going on a summer European tour.
The band, currently working on the follow-up to 2003’s ‘St Anger’ with producer Rick Rubin, will play seven dates in July, kicking off at the Werchter Festival in Belgium on July 1.
The ‘Sick Of The Studio 07’ tour also sees the metal legends visit Greece, Austria, Norway, Sweden, Finland and Russia.

Vienna Rotundenplatz (5)
Oslo Valle Hovin Stadium (10)
Stockholm Stadion (12)
Helsinki Olympic Stadium (15)
Moscow Lushniki Stadium (18)
Metallica also revealed in a message on their official website that they have a “few more shows in the works”, which will be announced soon.
The as-yet-untitled new LP, the group’s ninth studio album, is due for release at the end of 2007.
