Metallica will play Neil Young’s Bridge School Benefit concert in California next month.
The band heads a bill that also includes Tom Waits, Regina Spektor, and John Mayer.
The annual concert raises money for the Bridge School which helps children with physical speech impediments, and will be held at the Shoreline Amphitheatre.
The concert, which will be held on October 27 and 28, is now in its 21st year.
Founded in 1986 by veteran rocker Young and his wife Pegi, they have been hosting it every year since.
Pearl Jam's Eddie Vedder will make his ninth appearance at the concert, and will be playing with Red Hot Chilli Peppers' bassist Flea.
A limited number of lower level seats will be made available via auction at Ticketmaster on September 9, with proceeds from the auction going to the Bridge School.
