Metallica to play LA benefit
Metallica at Download 2006
The rockers support Red Hot Chili Pepper's music school
Metallica are set to perform at a benefit show in Los Angeles on Wednesday (May 14) for the Silverlake Conservatory of Music.
The non-profit organisation, which was founded by Red Hot Chili Peppers bassist Flea, provides scholarships to low-income students for music lessons and instruments.
Proceeds from the event will also go toward the school’s summer camp programme and a new building initiative.
Also on the evening’s bill are Scars on Broadway, which includes drummer John Dolmayan from System Of A Down.
The show will take place at The Wiltern Theatre. Tickets are available via Ticketmaster.com.
--By our Los Angeles staff.
