Metallica are set for a headline slot at the UK leg of next year's Sonisphere Festival.
They are set to be joined on the bill on the Friday (July 8) of the Knebworth Park event by Anthrax, Slayer and Megadeth. All four bands are touring Europe together as a part of the Big 4 tour, with a headline slot at Sonisphere the centrepiece of the gig run.
The tour was watched by over 500,000 people last summer. The Sonisphere billing will mark its only UK booking in 2010.
Biffy Clyro and Slipknot are already confirmed to play headline slots at the festival, which takes place on July 8-10.
