Fans have begun reacting to the announcement of Metallica being named as the headliners of Glastonbury.

The veteran rockers are the first metal band to headline the festival, after Michael Eavis had stated in previous years that he didn't think heavy metal artists were suitable to play at Glastonbury. Metallica headline the Saturday night, with Jake Bugg headlining the Other Stage that day.

They join previously announced headliners Arcade Fire and Kasabian in topping the bill. The festival runs from June 27-29 at Worthy Farm.

See below for a reaction of the delight and dismay at the announcement from Glastonbury fans.
