Metronomy single 'I'm Aquarius' to be available via 'The Night Sky' app Metronomy Tickets

The track will become available to fans who can find Aquarius constellation in the sky

Metronomy have announced details of a stargazing app to promote their new single 'I'm Aquarius'.

Last week, a three-second cut of the song looped on the Metronomy website after the band tweeted the link to fans. The snippet is the first new music to be heard from Metronomy since they released 'The English Riviera' in 2011.

'I'm Aquarius' will be available in full from November 11 via 'The Night sky' app. Fans will be able to hear the song from 7pm by holding their phone up toward the sky and searching for the Aquarius constellation. Once found, a stream of the song will be come available. The app is available to download now for iOS and Android.

Speaking about the new Metronomy album, which will be released in early 2014, frontman Joe Mount recently told NME that it is inspired by The Zombies, Sly and The Family Stone and the birth of his first child.

Discussing his newfound confidence ahead of making the album, which does not yet have a title, Mount says: "It's weird, I think I've learnt the difference between being confident in an egotistical way and being confident in what you do. I was getting embarrassed and finding it difficult to sing things that I'd written without cringing."

Metronomy released their Mercury Music Prize nominated album 'The English Riviera' in 2011. It followed the 2006 debut 'Pip Paine (Pay The £5000 You Owe)' and 'Nights Out', released in 2008. In 2011, Joe Mount helped produce the albums by Girls Aloud member Nicola Roberts as well as Sophie Ellis-Bextor's 'Make A Scene'.
