Band hold off competition from Elbow and Architects with new album 'Love Letters'

Metronomy have topped this week's Official Record Store Chart with their third album, 'Love Letters'.

The album beat off competition from Elbow and Architects to land the top spot.

Elsewhere in the Top 10, Room 94's 'No Strings Attached' is new at Four and Withered Hand are new at Number Five with their new album 'New Gods'. There are three further new entries in this week's chart, with Dan Croll's 'Sweet Disarray' new at Six, Paloma Faith at Nine with 'A Perfect Contradiction' and Joan As Policewoman entering at Number 10 with new album 'The Classic.'

Launched as part of Record Store Day, the Official Record Store Chart reflects sales in the UK's independent record shops. The chart is made up of sales of albums from around 100 independent record retailers who participate in Record Store Day UK. The full Top 40 features every week in NME.
